HotWeekends combines live 16-day weather forecasts with latest flight prices so you can discover and book sunny weekend breaks this weekend or next in minutes. Most travel sites make you pick a destination first. HotWeekends flips that. Search by weather, find sunny weekend getaways with good weather, pick from there.
How It Works
- Weather data: 16-day forecasts from OpenWeatherMap, refreshed every 6 hours.
- Flight prices: sourced from multiple providers and updated every Wednesday and Friday, so fares are always current for the coming weekend.
- Rankings: destinations are scored on value for money and daytime weather conditions. We use a weighted combination of average temperature and sunlight hours across your travel dates.
About the Founder
Tristan Robinson is the founder of FairFareFinder
GmbH. He has 8+ years of professional software engineering
experience, including a technical lead role at HELLA, and holds an
MEng in Electronic Engineering from the University of Glasgow. He
designed and built HotWeekends from first principles: the Go
backend, the weather and flight data pipelines, and the search and
ranking logic.
Prior to founding FairFareFinder, he architected and ran a
production developer community platform at HELLA, building custom
integrations across REST APIs, Docker, and Linux infrastructure.
That work led to him becoming a moderator at
meta.discourse.org
and a guest speaker on a Discourse-hosted panel on data patterns
in large developer communities.
